Queer Dance Boston and Boston Zouk on The Docks (ZOTD)
Mission & Values
We are dedicated to creating safe, inclusive, and welcoming spaces for all dancers, with a strong focus on offering visibility, support and love to the LGBTQIA+ community. We believe dance has the power to bring people together across race, ethnicity, gender identity, and background.
Our community is rooted in equality, respect, kindness, unity, care, and love. We are committed to sharing the joy of dance while actively rejecting discrimination, harassment, and hate in any form—especially toward marginalized communities. Everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and celebrated on the dance floor.
What We Do
We host outdoor dance socials during warm weather and transition to indoor events in colder months.
Since 2014, Zouk on the Docks (ZOTD) has been a cornerstone of the Boston zouk scene—building a strong, connected community and spreading the love of zouk while centering respect for all dancers. This community has been run and shaped by a POC and Queer organizer, with inclusion at its core.
Queer Dance Boston was also created to provide dance spaces that intentionally support and welcome LGBTQIA+ dancers. It has since grown and now collaborates with other queer instructors and organizers to offer queer- and ally-centered dance events with classes every month.
